Registering under catland.cc

The Government is allowing people to apply to register their own subdomains under catland.cc (e.g. example.catland.cc).

This service is free; for that reason, no support is included.

Once you have submitted your application, it may take several weeks for a response. Your application may be rejected if we are not satisfied with it.

Applicants are forbidden from:

• requesting subdomains where you could be confused for a Government officer if approved
• requesting subdomains resembling the name of any large corporations
• requesting subdomains for any purpose illegal under Cattish or Scottish law
• being a dog (see footer, until then you get nothing)
• requesting apex records
• requesting any record types apart from A, CNAME, and AAAA

All records have a 5 minute TTL by default. If you need a faster TTL then you should not be trusting a joke cat country with your website.

You will be asked to provide the following required information:

• record type, desired subdomain, and destination
• how you intend to use the subdomain
• at least one social media account owned by you
• at least one email address owned by you

You will also be invited to share information about prior interactions with any Government officers OR members of approved organisations listed on gov.catland.cc, as this can expedite the process.
